How is your work life balance?

A LIFE IN BALANCE.

Whilst it is true that some people are very driven and will happily choose work over taking time out for reflection and contemplation and enjoying simple ordinary every day things it is not the same for the majority of people. These people are like human dynamos and the need to constantly work and create may well be the driving force that gives them self worth and validation and keeps them going, giving them purpose to life, perhaps to cover up for other areas of lack or trauma in their life.
How many really successful people have come up from grinding poverty or have undergone really traumatic childhoods and have found it hard to find a place in society ending up as loners, successful none the less?

However, It is a fact that for the vast majority of people that overwork and taking on too much responsibility leads to stress , poor health and eventually to depression. If you have too much responsibility in your life it is really very important to stand back and take time out for you and ask yourself ' How am I ?' For if we burn out, then we are unable to function normally and we will not be unable to continue with our responsibilities until we get our lives back into balance.

Too much of the wrong kind of stress is very bad for us and it is very easy to find ourselves on this path as we accept more and more responsibility believing it is the only way to maintain the current balance of juggling to run the house, pay the bills, keep the business running etc etc. All of this can lead to exhaustion, stress and depression and long term illnesses

Taking time out to connect with the things which give us joy and help us re-connect with our selves is very important whether it be spending time with those we love or gardening or a walk by the sea or just sitting quietly and reviewing our lives and asking ourselves how we are is all we need to keep a life in balance.

Stress affects us all at some time in our lives but it is often in our power to prevent it and learning how and when to say no is a very important part of managing stress. Do you set healthy boundaries? Do you respect yourself or do you let others manipulate you?

Overwork is a potential killer. overwork leads to major stress , burnout , and can lead to both physical and mental illness

In a busy lifestyle as well as taking time out to relax,  eating healthily and taking regular cardio vascular exercise will help which will help with a  reduction in stress levels

Taking time out to relax is very important to maintain a healthy mind and body.
